Global Warming

Everybody should change their way of life to reduce global warming. There are several things that we can do. One of them is by buying and consuming fresh local groceries as much as possible. It of course includes local vegetables, fruits, bread, etc.

Local groceries don't need much transportation to get it into the market. It of course means, the amount of carbon dioxide produced is less than the groceries from other region. Therefore, by buying local groceries we are helping reduce the amount of carbon dioxide produced.

Consuming fresh groceries instead of frozen ones are healthier for us. Furthermore, fresh food or groceries means no requirements for it to be freeze up. It means that no electricity is needed and saving energy means reducing carbon dioxide and money.

Explanation text : menjelaskan tentang bagaimana dan mengapa suatu peristiwa alam dan non-alam bisa terjadi. Contohnya seperti gambar diatas, bahwa Banjir, panas , kebakaran hutan salah satunya disebabkan oleh ulah manusia sendiri terhadap alam. misalnya : penebangan hutan berlebihan, polusi yang tidak terkontrol, sampah, penggunaan plastik berlebihan dan lain-lain.

Ciri-Ciri Explanation Text

• Semua yang dipaparkan pada Explanation Text merupakan fakta dari sebuah kejadian, tanpa ditambahkan opini dari penulis.
• Topik pembahasan dari Explanation Text merupakan hal yang berhubungan dengan bidang keilmuan atau terdapat hubungan dengan ilmu pengetahuan
• Explanation Text bersifat informatif serta tidak mencoba untuk mempengaruhi pembaca untuk percaya terhadap apa yang dibahas.

Language Feature Explanation Text

• Grammar yang digunakan dalam explanation text adalah simple present text. 
• Explanation text juga banyak menggunakan passive voice

Generic Structure Explanation Text

• Introduction: Berisi pernyataan pembuka (opening statement) dan biasanya juga ada definisi dari apa yang akan dibahas dalam teks.
• Explanation sequences: Merupakan penjelasan / isi / inti dari pembahasan teks. Biasanya dipecah menjadi beberapa bagian paragraf secara terurut.
• Conclusion: Dalam bagian akhir dari Explanation Text berisi kesimpulan dari pembahasan  sebagai penutup teks.

Have you ever wondered how volcanoes are formed?          

(introduction)

A Volcano is a vent or an opening on the earth surface which allows molten rock called magma, volcanic ash, and gas to escape out onto its surface.              

(opening statement)

Volcanoes are formed whenever there is a crack in the crust of the earth. A tube-like passage connects a chamber of magma (molten rock) at the centre of the earth to the earth's crust.

When the pressure builds up in the chamber, the magma, gases, and ash are pushed up through to the top of the tube on the earth's surface known as vent.

The red hot magma that escapes to flow over the earth's surface is called lava which when gets cool, it will forms into rocks.

In fact, the mountains we see today are nothing but solidified lava from previously erupted volcanoes.
