Conditional Sentence  TYPE I (kalimat Pengandaian)

Menyatakan : Jika..... maka akan.....

   A.      If  simple present, present future   (mungkin terjadi)

If I am rich, I will buy the hotel

    present

If it rains tomorrow, I will not go to school

1.      Jika saya lulus ujian, saya akan mendaftar di perguruan tinggi

If I graduate from the exam, I will register to Univercity.

2.      Jika dia datang ke rumahku, saya akan masak untuk nya.

If He comes to my home, I will cook for him

3.      Jika hari ini tidak hujan, saya akan pergi ke rumahmu

If today is not rain, I will go to your home

4.      Jika nilai bhs Inggrisku bagus, ibuku akan membelikanku tas baru

If my English value is good, my mother will buy me a new bag

5.      Jika minggu depan libur, kami akan pergi wisata ke Jogjakarta.

If next week is holiday, we will go picnic to Jogjakarta

Value/mark = nilai

Graduate = lulus

Registrate = daftar

           

Conditional Sentence  TYPE II

   B.      If  simple past, past future 
  ( bertentangan dengan fakta saat ini)

If she were my wife , I would always make her happy   Fact: she is not my wife

         past                                 

If she were sick, she couldn’t do the work = were    past

If I lived in a village, I would jog everyday

        past

Conditional Sentence  TYPE III

   C.      If  past perfect , past future  perfect ( bertentangan dengan fakta past/ waktu lampau)

If you had invited me, I would have attended it

     Verb 3as you didn`t invite me , I did not attend it

If the train had been late, I would have taken a taxi

Form : If+ Had V3, Would have V3

Selain menggunakan “IF’’ juga bisa menggunakan:

- On condition that ( dengan syarat)

- Provided that (asalkan...)

- Unless (kecuali jika...)

IF bisa disusun balik (khusus yang ber tobe WERE)

- If she were sick, she couldn`t do the work

- Were sick , she couldn`t do the work.

1.      Jika pagi ini mendung, sore ini akan hujan

If this morning is cloudy, it will rain, this afternoon

2.      Jika saya tidak mengerjakan PR, saya akan di hukum guru

If I don`t do the homework, I will be punished by the teacher.

3.      Jika mereka bermain sepak bola, saya akan menjadi wasit.

If they play football, I will become a referee

4.      Jika ayahku pulang, dia akan memberiku uang, kemarin

If my father went home, He would give me some money, yesterday

5.      Jika kami belajar giat, kami akan lulus ujian, minggu lalu.

If we studied hard, we would graduate the exam, last week.

6.      Jika (dulu) saya belajar di SMA, saya akan punya teman cewek2

If I had studied in SMA, I would have  had girls friend

7.      Jika (dulu) kami pindah rumah, kami tidak sekolah disini.

Exercise:

A.     Change these sentence into conditional sentence type II and type III!

1.      If I come to Indonesia , I will visit your hometown

2.      If I pass the state University entrance test, my father will buy me a new motorcycle

3.      If I work harder, I will finish my paper in due time

4.      If I call you, you will give me some information

5.      He will come earlier if there is a test
